My new band piece, Ned the Neck (yes that is a midi excerpt, listen at your peril, noting the nifty bari sax solo despite the heinous midi sound…) is done and being read by the BCMEA Honour Band tomorrow! Much excitement!!!

UPDATE! – UBC Concert Winds’ recording of Ned the Neck is here: [soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/65726223″ params=”auto_play=false&show_artwork=true&color=1d246b” width=”70%” height=”51″ iframe=”true” /]

Ned the Neck (the snake) is a miniature boa constrictor, by the way. Ned the Neck (the band piece) is a co-commission by the BC CMC and the BCMEA, and was a lot of fun to write.

P.S. If you’re interested in purchasing the score and parts of Ned the Neck, it is now being sold by Long & McQuade. Please contact Greg Passmore to purchase.
